From collages I started to make some drawing and testing with different materials to organizing the visual effect, compare with the differences from showing in different medium.
I try to start from the relationship between space and painting, to explore the ability to create landscape for space through painting. From the reference works, I saw some that were painted directly onto the cut-out shapes of the material. I also feel that the splicing and overlapping of picture frames creates landscapes.
What I see is how they use media and space, and how they use media to open up the creativity of space.
This is also the narrative element I want to create through painting.
TESTING

The best thing from the image transfer can having the better effect to showing the image really clear and clean. the way I can progress from this experience is that I can make a massive collage from the and transfer to plain fabric, but the disadvantage also showing as it need a light from the back to bright up. the image. If don’t with that it only appeal the shape of the collage with out the details.

By collecting found floor planks, I can freely piece them together to the size and shape I want.
I tried gluing paper to the surface of the board. Create with watercolor. The combination of paper and wood allows me to be more flexible in both my drawings and layouts. Can be spliced arbitrarily. I think this can also combine the form of collage with painting to present a different spatial narrative.

I also tried to create with small picture frames. The effect of constructing space can also be achieved by piecing together small parts to create a large picture.

From the testing of different medium of creationg. It reminds me an artist and his work.
David hockney prefer to create massive picture also combine with photography collage and drawing.
I created a long scroll based on my collage. I plan to use a combination of painting and digital painting to present the final image. I also try to create a narrative space through pop-up in some images.
My plan is to use a one-piece painting as a way of narrating the viewer’s narrative. The continuous picture will attract the viewer’s curiosity from a visual perspective.
Tutorial | Failed test watercolor and making
I reflected on various challenges I encountered during the creative process. These difficulties helped me identify key areas that require more attention and planning in future work. During a tutorial with my teacher, I realized that I often overlooked the volume and scale of my work, as well as the importance of addressing issues in a timely manner. Delaying solutions to manageable problems eventually led to unnecessary delays in later stages of the project. As a result, I was unable to complete the long scroll artwork, and it did not achieve the intended narrative effect.
However, these experiences provided valuable lessons and highlighted several directions for improvement. My tutor also advised me to express my concepts and themes in a more concise and clear manner. At this stage of learning, effective communication is especially important.
